Yesenia Bonilla-Cardenas

Yesenia was born and raised in Denver, CO but lived for a few years in San Francisco, CA as a student at the University of San Francisco. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies while volunteering at the Women’s Building. Since the age of 6, Yesenia joined non-profits by becoming a member of Girls Inc. an organization inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold. Through non-profits, Yesenia was exposed to new opportunities, had support systems that guided her through her goals and fell in love with working in community. As a college advisor for the Denver Scholarship Foundation, Yesenia hopes to empower DPS students to also explore new opportunities, achieve their goals, and find their voice in their own communities.
