Alyssa Baker

College Advisor, Thomas Jefferson High School

Originally from Colorado, Alyssa attended Colorado State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a Master’s in Education. She has worked in the nonprofit space coordinating after school programming and supporting social emotional learning for middle school students in Denver Public Schools. Later she led her organization’s high school work as the Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Coordinator. She has also spent many years as a Social Studies teacher where she taught in Greeley and Montbello. Most recently she has been supporting students at Thomas Jefferson High School. Moving back into the nonprofit space and continuing to serve students at Thomas Jefferson as a College Advisor with the Denver Scholarship foundation is a dream for Alyssa. She is passionate about providing all students access to opportunities, building relationships and collaborating with students on realizing their postsecondary goals.
