DSF Career Success Coaching Program empowers DSF Scholars to grow professionally by matching them with volunteer coaches that will support them with gaining the skills needed to be more confident and competitive in the job search process.

Career Success Coach Program Objectives

  • Expand Scholar connections and networks

  • Support scholar’s knowledge of their strengths, values and motivations and connect them to career paths

  • Provide Scholar opportunities to practice essential/durable skills and grow professionally

  • Improve Scholar competitiveness in the job market through resume review, LinkedIn profile creation, network building, and interview preparation

Volunteer Career Success Coaching

Program Requirements & Commitments

  • 2 hours per month commitment for 7 months (plus an online orientation, in-person Program Kickoff, and in-person End of Program Celebration)
  • 30 minutes to 1 hour dedicated to learning career coaching materials provided by DSF
  • 1 hour dedicated to supporting scholar with program objectives
  • All meetings will be virtual with the exception of in-person meetings for introductions and end of program celebration. All curriculums and content are online.

  • Support scholar in improving their overall competitiveness and confidence in the job search process. Monthly topics include:
    • Career Planning and Development
    • Resume Creation
    • LinkedIn Profile
    • Networking Best Practices
    • Interviewing techniques
  • Listen and provide encouragement, feedback, and new insights

The program empowers DSF Scholars to grow professionally while inspiring them to contribute to the Denver community by providing individualized mentorship. This application will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

Program Requirements & Commitments

  • 2 hours per month commitment for 6 months
    • 30 minutes to 1 hour dedicated to learning and completing career related activities to improve your professional growth 
    • 1 hour dedicated to meeting with your coach virtually to discuss career coaching content and increasing your employability skills
  • Mandatory in-person meeting on October 11
  • Improve your overall competitiveness and confidence in the job search process. Monthly topics include:
    • Career Planning and Development
    • Resume Creation
    • LinkedIn Profile
    • Networking Best Practices
    • Interviewing techniques
  • Be a current DSF Scholar  
  • All meetings will be virtual
  • Listens and provides encouragement, feedback, and new insights
