NBA Foundation Supports DSF in Expanding College and Career Pathways for Denver Students

Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) is excited to announce that we have been selected as a grantee of the NBA Foundation; one of just 160 organizations nationwide and among only five in Denver awarded funding this round of the grant cycle. The NBA Foundation’s mission is rooted in creating pathways to meaningful employment for underserved youth, and this award reflects our powerful, shared commitment to advancing economic opportunity, college and career access, and long-term mobility for Denver students. 

This investment in DSF recognizes the strength of our programs, partners, staff, and most importantly, the hard work and success of the students we serve. This grant comes at a critical time, as Denver youth face a local job market focused on education or training after high school, with 98% of top-tier jobs requiring a postsecondary credential. Through this partnership, the NBA Foundation will help deepen DSF’s efforts to ensure more Denver students are equipped with the skills, experiences, and support needed to succeed academically and thrive in today’s workforce, and will directly impact thousands of DPS students and DSF Scholars by: 

• Supporting college enrollment rates through effective college and career advising provided by dedicated DSF College Advisors 

• Strengthening student postsecondary success, building on our 82% persistence and completion rate 

• Expanding career-connected programming for DPS students and DSF Scholars to ensure they have the knowledge and skills needed to pursue meaningful pathways. 

Together, DSF and the NBA Foundation are helping ensure that more students can obtain a postsecondary education, successfully transition into meaningful careers, and pursue a life of choice and opportunity.
