
The 2022 DSF College Partner of the Year is Lauren Koppel, Associate Director of Scholarship Support & Retention, Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU). For six years, Lauren has supported DSF Campus Advisors providing College Success services to DSF Scholars at MSU Denver.

The 2022 DSF District Partner of the year is Hap Ming Chi Legg, School Counselor at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Early College. Hap has supported Denver Public Schools (DPS) high school students together with DSF College Advisors for over a decade.

The 2022 DSF Corporate Partner of the Year is Kayla Garcia, Community Affairs Director at Molson Coors, who recognizes the importance of increasing equitable access to education for students in Colorado and beyond.

The 2022 DSF Community Partner of the Year is Jason Clark, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Charles Schwab. Jason is a former DSF staff member and plays an active role ensuring DSF remains a long-lasting fixture in the Denver community.
“The success of DSF’s program would not be possible without the thoughtful collaboration of partners throughout our community,” says Lorii Rabinowitz, chief executive officer of DSF. “Each of their brilliant contributions enhance every aspect of our work. We had a wonderful time celebrating and thanking our four DSF Partners of the Year at the 2022 DSF Annual Homecoming Gala on September 22.”
The 2022 DSF Annual Homecoming Gala celebrated DSF’s impact over the past 15 years. DSF Scholar Sydnee Scadden shared her college journey, from graduating high school at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early College, to enrolling at Colorado State University and being an inspiration to her family. We also heard about how DSF Alum and current staff member Derrek Sandoval supported Sydnee on her journey as her DSF College Advisor and had the chance to hear about how Derrek’s DSF College Advisor, Renae Bellew, inspired him on his journey to and through college. We celebrated DSF’s 15 years of impact, highlighting DSF’s founders Tim and Bernie Márquez as well as DSF Alum Cristina Chacon and her DSF College Advisor Curtis Esquibel.
