DSF Future Centers help to instill a college-going culture at each high school we serve. We are impartial in describing a variety of education paths – from certificate programs for skilled trade occupations to associate and bachelor’s degree programs for students who wish to enter a profession. While most students choose a bachelor’s degree program pathway, a growing number of students are aspiring to skilled trade options, either as their career choice or as a stepping stone to financial stability before they go on to additional management training or a bachelor’s degree. We celebrate all of these choices as a success for the students we serve, whether or not they receive a scholarship from the Denver Scholarship Foundation!
In each Future Center, DSF Advisors partner with school counselors, administrators and other pre-collegiate programs to create an expectation that students will continue with their education. The advisors provide a window into college life by arranging campus tours and bringing college representatives to the high schools. They work tirelessly to inspire students to attend college and empower them with the knowledge and the financial resources to achieve their college goals.
For $50,000, each Future Center may be sponsored by individuals, businesses, or organizations in the community. Sponsorships allow you to brand the Future Center inside the high school and on DSF materials. Combined with employee volunteer events inside your Future Center, the story of your organization’s support for the higher education goals of Denver’s students would make a compelling press release for the media.
