Join Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) for an evening with Geoffrey Canada, featured prominently in Waiting for Superman, Academy Award-winner Davis Guggenheim’s documentary on the state of American public education. Named one of “America’s Best Leaders” by US News and World Report, Geoffrey Canada is the founder of Harlem Children’s Zone, a pioneering nonprofit organization committed to ending generational poverty in Central Harlem, referred to as “one of the most ambitious social experiments of our time” by The New York Times Magazine. Learn more about Mr. Canada on our blog here.
Proceeds from the Annual Gala will make it possible for thousands of Denver Public Schools’ graduates to complete a college degree. DSF collaborates with donors, supporters, educators, families, community colleges, universities, and technical colleges to build partnerships that drive resources and talent to support students on their way to the commencement stage at college graduation
Thanks to the long-standing and generous support of the event’s anonymous presenting sponsor, all event costs are underwritten and every dollar raised will go directly to scholarships. Additionally, every dollar donated to the DSF Scholarship Fund will be matched as available by the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI), a program administered by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
