Bash to the Future 2019 Raises Over $57,000

Apr 10, 2019

Denver Scholarship Foundation’s (DSF) Bash to the Future event on April 6, 2019 was a success!

With the support of attendees and sponsors, we were able to raise over $57,000 to help send Denver Public Schools’ students to and through college. A special shout out to the Cielo Foundation for their generous matching gift support of the event’s paddle raise.

Throughout the night, attendees heard from DSF Alumna and Alumni Advisory Committee (AAC) member Kaeyla Taylor and enjoyed entertainment by the Montbello Cheer Team and Drum-line. Andy Seth, chief executive officer of Flow, chairman of Minds Matter, and Governors Fellow, joined us for the live auction and paddle raise. School of Breaking surprised the crowd with a flash mob-style performance, and champion beatbox duo LightShip wowed the audience with their talent. DSF Alumnus and AAC member Angelo “DJ Lo” Fajardo spun the tunes as DJ for the evening.

A powerful, heartwarming story of Alumna Kaeyla Taylor college journey was shaped by the dreams of her great-grandmother and grandmothers—all of whom aspired to be nurses. This video is a touching tribute to family, legacy, and the life-changing support of the DSF.

We would also like to thank all members of the DSF Junior Board for all of their creativity, dedication and support in leading the event.
