CDHE DATA BREACH
Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) values our students’, DSF Scholars’ and communities’ privacy, protections, and the relationships we hold with each of you. We want to make you aware that on August 4, 2023 the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) announced a cybersecurity incident where personal data, including names and Social Security numbers or student identification numbers, as well as other education records were compromised.
This incident MAYÂ have impacted individuals who:

- Attended a public college or university in Colorado between 2007 and 2020
- Attended a Colorado public high school between 2004 and 2020
- Held a Colorado K-12 public school educator license between 2010-2014
- Participated in the Dependent Tuition Assistance Program from 2009-2013
- Participated in Colorado Department of Education’s Adult Education Initiatives programs between 2013-2017
- Obtained a GED between 2007-2011

Notifications
The CDHE will notify potentially impacted people by mail or email, if officials have contact information. -
Credit Monitoring & Identity Theft Protection Services
The CDHE is providing all impacted individuals with free access to credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Experian for two years, the news release said. However, they are not able to enroll victims directly. To learn more click HERE. -
Safeguard Policies
In response to the incident, the department said it is reviewing policies and procedures and adding more cybersecurity safeguards.
