2016-17 DSF Student Success Requirements

Adams State University is an official DSF Partner College that provides DSF Scholars with additional support on campus to help you be successful.  DSF wants you to succeed as you pursue your education. To that end, students at ASU must meet certain Student Success Requirements to maintain scholarship eligibility. Please note Student Success Requirements may change from year to year. Please review this page for the most accurate information concerning your Student Success Requirements.

Requirements for New Students

  • Attend a Transition to ASU workshop to learn about student success resources available and build community amongst DSF Scholars at ASU before receiving a scholarship payment. The workshop will be held the first week of classes each fall and spring. Contact either contact below for more information and to register for the event.
  • Attend the Colorado Challenge Welcome Reception Workshop during the first week of each semester.
  • Participate in the First Year Program (AAA 101) in their first semester and complete a four year degree plan.

Requirements for All Students

  • Complete the Student Success Requirement Passport each semester by the first week of December for the fall and the first week of May for the spring.
    • The Student Success Requirement Passport includes the following:
      • Attend monthly meeting with DSF Advisor and Colorado Challenge Advisor.
      • Attend a minimum of four scheduled study sessions each month (once per week, two hour session) in a controlled environment to study, complete homework, and receive academic assistance.
      • Attend three student success Workshops per semester.
      • Attend one Outdoor Pursuits event, C.A.S.A event, or ASU event each semester.
      • Receive Academic Advising and register for the spring semester by the first week of registration for first-year students. All other students attend academic advising during academic advising week.
      • Make an appointment with the Career Center to choose a major, set short and long term career goals, complete resume.
