Luis Antezana Alba was born in Bolivia, raised in Los Angeles, and has called Colorado his adopted home since 2015. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Honors College at the California State University of Los Angeles. His professional career began as an educator in Colorado Springs, teaching high school CLDE Language Arts where he founded the Dreamers Club, helping undocumented students get to college. Luis is also the co-founder and executive director of Juntos For Education, a nonprofit aiming to achieve education equity by equipping secondary school students with community organizing tools and skills. For his efforts to education equity, Luis was recognized with the Teach for America 2018 Colorado Springs Alumnus of the Year award. Embarking on a new road, Luis is elated to work at Abraham Lincoln High School as a Denver Scholarship Foundation College Advisor. On his time off, he enjoys dancing cumbias, playing Mario Kart, and reading books.
